open cell sponge rubber

Our open cell sponge-rubber is derived from natural rubber extracted from rubber plants.

Our sponge-rubber qualities vary in density, porosity and colour and can be used in a multitude of industries, although our sponge-rubber qualities are mainly used in the ceramics industry for de-glazing purposes. They can be used up to a temperature of 80 degrees Celsius.

We can offer these materials in sheet form, or laminated to various backing-belts to provide pre-fabricated de-glazing belts in various lengths, widths and thicknesses.

Photographs of our most popular sponge-rubbers are shown in our gallery and their technical details, including standard sheet sizes (various thicknesses available), are shown below.

They can be identified from their codes, whereby:

  1. The initial letter indicates the colour (eg. O = Orange; G = Green; B = Blue; Y = Yellow)
  2. The figure denotes the density (kg/cbm)
  3. The last letter indicates the porosity (F = Fine and M = Medium)
